We expect to fill seven (7) vacancies at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.To be eligible, an applicant must:

Recent Graduates
A Recent Graduate who has obtained a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within the previous 2 years or other applicable period.

Other applicable period may include: (1) Certain veterans precluded from applying within the timeframe described above due to a military service obligation, shall have a full 2-year period of eligibility upon his/her release or discharge from active duty. However, in no event, may the individual's eligibility period extend beyond 6 years from the date on which the individual completed the requirements of an academic course of study; and (2) Applicants who completed their educational program requirements after December 27, 2010 will have a full 2 years of eligibility beginning on the date the final regulations became effective, July 10, 2012.

In order to assess you meet a qualified status for this position and to refer you to the hiring manager, the agency must be able to determine that you meet the qualifications based on completed education, specialized experience, and/or both - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level of the position to be filled.

To qualify for the GS-05: You must possess three (3) years of full time general experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least GS-04, as indicated by the following examples: work experience that demonstrates gathering pertinent data and maintaining files; experience planning and organizing work; assisting with preparation of reports; and communicating effectively both orally and in writing. OR 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree OR have an equivalent combination of the type and level of experience and education described above.

To qualify for the GS-07: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: work experience that demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail; compliance with regulations; experience developing and maintaining files; experience preparing and disseminating reports as well as experience communicating clearly and professionally with internal and external partners both orally and in writing (briefs, updates, meetings, email, presentations); and the ability to shift rapidly to changing priorities. OR Successful completion of one full year (18 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position or Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) Superior Academic Achievement (See OPM's General Policies, Application of Qualification Standards Section 4.f.) S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. OR an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

To qualify for the GS-09: One (1) year of specialized experience described at the GS-07 level that was related to: land surveying, historical records interpretation, lands title searches/compilation (Title companies), County Recorder and/or Assessor's experience, easement acquisition (ie: for utility companies), Land Management experience (ie: Oil and Gas company experience, mining exploration company exp.), paralegal/legal clerk experience, land use or resource management (organic agriculture, reforestation, water resource management and eco-tourism projects, among others) and/or project management (planning and designation of project resources, preparation of budgets, progress monitoring, keeping stakeholders informed of status); building and reviewing environmental documents, accessing and applying legal and regulatory information from online or other resources, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map reading ability, fiscal experience (bonding, budget, rental and cost recovery), for the above referenced positions. OR master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or
LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

Physical Demands: The work is split between sedentary and physical. Because the employee may lead or often conduct on-site examinations, there is some walking, standing, bending, and requiring normal physical exertion. Onsite visits require physical ability to traverse remote rough country by cross country vehicle or by foot, sometimes in extreme climatic conditions to conduct field inspections. The field duties of this position require that the employee operate four-wheel drive vehicles on and off roads in isolated areas.

Work Environment: The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. The work environment varies from an office setting to working outside in isolated areas under adverse weather conditions. The employee usually works alone while in the field. Temperatures in the field vary from minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Work in the office will generally be at a desk. The employee will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.
