Description About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at March Air Reserve Base.

The primary function of the position is to perform duties in taking reservations, recording attendance, collecting fees, equipment care, customer service, and sales of the Outdoor Recreation.

This is a flexible position which means you may work between 0-40 hours per week.
Issues on a loan or rental basis recreational equipment to authorized patrons. Checks for proper identification of authorized patrons. Inspects all outgoing and incoming items to ensure cleanliness and proper function. Inspects facilities and equipment to assure safe condition and operation. Lifts same equipment/items and puts them away. Performs minor repairs and adjustments, annotates discrepancies and follows up to get items repaired or replaced. Assists in conducting inventories, end of the month suspenses and maintains records. Recommends items to add or delete from inventory. Develops and maintains a ticket sales outlet to support the assigned military reservists, DoD civilians and local retirees. Establishes ticket sales hours to meet the needs of the patrons. Makes reservations, collects fees, charges, and monies from ticket sales, equipment rentals, RV Storage lot key to assigned patrons. Takes reservations and payment for trips and tours; notifies participants of schedule changes. Ability to lift and set-up large pieces of rental equipment to include, but not limited to lawn and garden equipment; boats and trailers; canopies. Maintains current records on all assigned spaces in storage lot. Controls and issues the RV Storage lot key to assigned patrons. Maintains current records on all assigned spaces in the RV Storage lot. Monitors operations of the March ARB FAMCAMP. Recruits, interviews, and trains the volunteer FAMCAMP Host. Ensures all safety rules are adhered to by demonstrating basic techniques as necessary. Works uncommon tour of duty to include: days, nights, weekends, holidays, and down days. Operates a NAF vehicle when conducting the duties of this position. Performs other related duties as assigned.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs, and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which position is assigned. Requires ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Skill in dealing with the public. Physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Requires possession of a valid state motor vehicle license.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
