Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant that will assist their Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Assist with the daily, weekly, and monthly accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Responsible for Accounts Payable processing, i.e. matching invoices to purchase orders/work orders/packing slips; inputting invoices to the A/P accounting system; and processing a weekly computer check run.

Process daily sales invoices and/or credits, verifying accuracy of itemized charges, and inputting the daily sales invoices and/or credits and receivable payments into accounting system.

Prepare manual checks when needed and record such in the accounting system.

Assist in implementing and maintaining the computerized point-of-sale data.

Perform other office duties assigned by Controller and/or Corporate officers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Knowledge of basic recordkeeping/accounting methods.

Competent knowledge of computer operation especially MS Excel and Word.

Detail oriented, organized, and has strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately based on deadlines.
EXPERIENCE:
-
One to two plus years of clerical accounting experience, preferably as an accounting assistant

One to two plus years of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience, preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to effectively interact with vendors and/or customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL/OTHER SKILLS/LICENSES:

Working knowledge of computers and most commonly used software, to include Microsoft Office Excel and Word, E-mail and Internet.

Knowledge of Epicor System is a plus

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Possess a valid California driver’s license and carry automobile liability insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements.
